The soccer season is inching closer after the Boise State soccer team’s schedule got officially released on July 21.
The Broncos finished last season with a 11-7-4 overall record, 4-4-3 conference record and a tough loss in the Mountain West championship game.
Despite not having the ending they had hoped for, the team is ready to plow through all their opponents on this year’s schedule.
“I’m here to create a culture that is unbreakable in its nature and representative of the people within it,” said head coach Jim Thomas. “We are here to win matches. The best way we do that is by teaching each other on how to be better at what we do.”
Their schedule consists of 20 games, 11 of which will be played at home. This 20-game schedule ties with the largest schedule in program history.
This schedule also has Boise State playing against three or more Power-Five teams for the third time under head coach Jim Thomas. These Power-Five schools include the University of Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona State.
The team starts off their season at home with a match against Utah Valley on Aug. 18. The team will then play two more home games against Arizona State and UC Riverside.
The Broncos will then head to the west coast to take on the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, UC Davis and CSU Bakersfield.
The soccer team will then wrap up non-conference play back in Boise against Montana and Eastern Washington.
Following their game against the Eagles, the Broncos will finish off the season with conference games.
They are scheduled to play against UNLV, Nevada, Air Force, Colorado College, New Mexico and San Diego State at home while playing against Colorado State, Wyoming, Fresno State, San Jose State and Utah State on the road.
Depending on how the season goes, Boise State has the possibility of playing in the Mountain West Championship game for the third consecutive year in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Season tickets are on sale now at BroncoSports.com and will include an exclusive Boise State soccer scarf.
