BOISE STATE WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL HAS HAD A KILLER SEASON SO FAR WITH AN OVERALL RECORD OF 14-3 AND 3-2 IN CONFERENCE PLAY.
AS THE BRONCOS TAKE ON THE LOBOS FROM NEW MEXICO ON OCT. 9, THEIR MATCHUP AGAINST THE REBELS FROM UNLV ON OCT. 16 WILL BE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED.
LAST SEASON THE REBELS HAD AN OVERALL RECORD OF 13-1. THEIR ONLY LOSS WAS IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT AGAINST THE NO. 2 SEED, THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY.
DURING THE 2021 SPRING SEASON, UNLV TOOK THE NUMBER ONE SPOT IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE. TRAILING BEHIND THEM IN SECOND WAS BOISE STATE.
JUNIOR OUTSIDE HITTER LAUREN OHLINGER HAS HAD AN EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL SEASON WITH THE BRONCOS. THIS SEASON ALONE SHE’S HAD 231 KILLS, AN AVERAGE HITTING PERCENTAGE OF .264 AND HAS SCORED 279.5 POINTS.
FOR THE REBELS, SENIOR OUTSIDE HITTER MARIENA HAYDEN HAS HAD 174 KILLS, AN AVERAGE HITTING PERCENTAGE OF .253 AND HAS SCORED 225 POINTS.
BOISE STATE HEAD COACH SHAWN GARUS SAID THAT HE THINKS THEIR NON CONFERENCE GAMES HAVE TAUGHT THE TEAM WHAT IT TAKES TO PREPARE AND GET READY FOR MOUNTAIN WEST TEAMS.
