ASBSU President Ryan Gregg resigned today, effective immediately. Current Vice President Bryan Vlok will now serve as Student Body President. Gregg announced his resignation to the student body via email. According to Gregg his reasons for resignation are personal, professional and academic. Gregg hopes to focus on his education and graduate in the spring.

Vlok will miss Gregg but is confident in himself and his team.

“I’ve got a great team of supporters behind me, so this is going to come together well,” Vlok said.

Vlok and Gregg have been great friends but Vlok respects Gregg’s decision.

“Ryan is one of my really great friends. I’m sad to see him go but he is making choices for himself so he can graduate on time. It is hard on me, but he has prepared me well to take over this position,” Vlok said. “As he was cleaning out his office, I said, ‘I feel like you’re dying tomorrow and I have to say my goodbyes now.'”

Vlok went on to say Gregg is still a support system for him.

“It’s a hard thing but he is still a great support to me. He has been so helpful. I have been calling him more than ever trying to figure out what this is and that is and trying to figure out everything in the office,” Vlok said.

Vlok plans to push through this term and be successful.

“I think it’s just that we are going to continue working through and working together and receive support from the people we need support from,” Vlok said.
