A resolution proposed by the Idaho State Board of Education granting university presidents the authority to change and amend faculty contracts passed the second reading at their meeting Thursday.
According to Rep. Tom Trail (R-Moscow), Boise State and the University of Idaho have already amended faculty contracts. He said they enacted the change last spring without proper authority granted by the new resolution.

Joint Finance Appropriations Committee Chairman Dean Cameron spoke to students and members of the community Saturday about recent budget recommendations. “We are not even close to hitting the mark,” he said. “We are in uncharted territory. The economy has fallen so rapidly and so steeply it is disconcerting.”

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to the student tuition and fee hearing Friday at 1:00 in the Lookout Room of the Student Union Building. An increase of 10 percent in tuition for full-time students will be proposed.
