They commit to serve. They fight. Some come home, and some pay the ultimate sacrifice. Boise State University wants to honor all of them.

On Tuesday, Veterans Day, Boise State officially opened its new Veterans Memorial. The memorial is called "Salute" and was designed by Kay Kirkpatrick.

Senate debates bill, memorial and resolution

The Associated Students of Boise State University Senate debated a bill Thursday, Nov. 6 that would allocate funds for Poverty Week events. The bill was disputed due to stipulations in ASBSU's Financial Code. At its Tuesday, Nov. 11 meeting, the Senate also introduced a memorial honoring our veterans and a resolution demanding more meal plan options from University Dining Services.

Boise State honors veterans at ceremony

Students, faculty, staff, veterans and the general public gathered in the Student Union Special Events Center (SPEC) on Friday, Nov. 10 to remember U.S. veterans by attending the annual Boise State Veterans' Ceremony.

Maj. Gen. Lawrence Lafrenz was the keynote speaker of the ceremony.

Outrage at a perceived bias by a Boise State student, a proposed mural project and three pieces of legislation filled the Tuesday ASBSU Senate meeting. Poster outrageSenate guest Juan Morales conveyed his outrage at a supposed ASBSU approved poster. Two photos were printed on the yellow sheet measuring eight and a half by 11 inches.
