Boise State men’s golf is set to host several Division I teams at Banbury Golf Club in Eagle for the third annual Dash Thomas Memorial tournament from Sept. 23-24.
Notable committed teams to compete include Cal State Fullerton, Seattle University, Grand Canyon University, Southern Utah University, Sacramento State and Stetson.
One Boise State golfer to watch is junior Ty Travis. Travis finished in the top 25 in his first competition as a Bronco at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Wash. Another key golfer is sophomore Logan France. He looks to keep improving after shooting a Bronco best 1-over 71 round on the final day of the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate. Six of the nine golfers on Boise State’s roster are from the Boise area, which could give Boise State an advantage with course experience.
Admission to the tournament is free, and it is encouraged by Boise State as well as Banbury Golf Club for golf fans to come and support the student athletes.
Extended forecasts are predicting the first day of the tournament to be more sunny then cloudy with a high of 74 degrees. The second day forecast may not bode well for the competition as showers are expected with a high of only 64 degrees.
