What do sea shanties, spaghetti westerns, railroad songs, road movies, pulp, noir, punk and rock n’ roll have in common? According to a Treefort bio, they all influence local country band Old Death Whisper.
While roaming the globe Old Death Whisper brings a ‘cocktail of dirty western roots music and country tinged parlor tunes’ to wherever they may be performing.
For this year’s Treefort, Old Death Whisper is rearing to go into Pengilly’s Saloon at midnight Saturday, March 23 along with other country groups.
With a hearty 919 likes on Facebook, Old Death Whisper is taking country by storm. Based out of Hailey, ID, this group has trekked in to the big city (Boise) and all over the Northwest states. Old Death Whisper has also shipped out to Belgium and Holland while making a global presence.
For 2013, Old Death Whisper has alerted their fans to new material (including their upbeat Treefort bio song ‘Dead Outlaw’) and the potential for a new record to be released this year.
