I-84 re-opened to traffic

The National Weather Service in Boise issued a Winter Weather Advisory Wednesday, Jan. 23, beginning at  2 a.m. and lasting through 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 24.

I-84 was closed between Mountain Home and Boise just after 3 a.m. due to the ice storm and a second 88 mile stretch was closed from Boise to Bliss due to weather conditions, accidents and stranded vehicles shortly after 8:30 a.m.

According to KTVB, Ada County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Andrea Dearden ¬†reported 37 crashes and slide-offs Thursday morning with no injuries reported in Ada County.

An additional four crashes were reported by 8:45 a.m.

At this time I-84 has been completely re-opened.
