Police investigate car fire in parking garage

Boise firefighters where notified at approximately 6:45 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, when a passerby noticed smoke billowing out of the top level of Lincoln parking garage.

According to the Boise police news release, firefighters quickly extinguished two cars that were ablaze, a GMC Jimmy SUV and a Jeep Wrangler. Both vehicles belong to Boise State students.

The cause of both fires is unknown and Boise police are currently investigating the incident.

“Unfortunately, there isn’t any additional information I can provide you with at this time,” said Lynn Hightower, Communications Director for the Boise Police Department.

Information leading to an arrest can be rewarded up 1,000, the Boise police news release said.
