Police training at stadium may produce gunfire noises

Tomorrow, Feb. 9, 2012, Boise Police Department will be hosting a tactical training exercise in Bronco Stadium from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those near the stadium may hear noises meant to simulate gunfire, however, the police department will only be firing air munitions.

This training is designed to prepare officers and emergency responders to protect large crowds at entertainment and sporting venues.

SWAT team members will be dressed in tactical clothing, which includes training firearms, and emergency response vehicles will be in the west stadium lot.

Signs have been posted around the training site and in the stadium lot to make the public aware of the training. Yellow police caution tape has also been posted around the site.
