Broncos land Ioane on signing day; 10 recruits sign to BSU

Jeremy Ioane made a leap of football faith Wednesday on national Letter of Intent signing day by dropping offers to Notre Dame and Washington

to join the Boise State Broncos.

Tyron Crawford – Defensive End – 6-4 – 275 – Junior – Windsor, Ontario – Catholic Central HS/Bakersfield College

-       Named junior college first All-American sophomore season (2009) with Bakersfield College in Bakersfield, Calif. Also named to the All-State (sophomore)  and All-Conference teams (freshman and sophomore).

-       Voted Conference Defensive MVP during sophomore season.

-        Recorded 42 tackles (28 solo), 14 tackles for loss and eight sacks during his 2009 season with BC.

-       Was an All-Conference selection all four seasons playing at Catholic Central HS and was named the team captain both his junior and senior seasons.

-       Accompanying his football accolades, Crawford also lettered twice in both basketball and track and field in high school.

Bryan Douglas – Cornerback – 5-9 – 170 – Freshman – Los Angeles, Calif. – Narbonne HS

-       Named to All-Conference teams both junior and senior seasons at Narbonne HS, once on defense and once on offense. His junior season Douglas was name second-team All-Conference and senior season first-team All-Conference.

-       Douglas caught 44 passes for 852 yards with four touchdowns his senior season at wide receiver. He doubled on defense his senior year, recording 52 tackles, 14 pass breakups and five interceptions. Also recorded a kick-off returned for a touchdown as a senior. His junior season he recorded 40 tackles, 11 pass breakups and three interceptions.

-       Scout.com ranked him in the top-100. He was rated the seventh best cornerback in Calif.

-       Ran a 10.68 100-meter dash in high school.

-       Student-Athlete Award winner for maintaining a 3.0


Grant Hedrick – Quarterback – 6-1 – 185 – Independence, Oregon – Central HS.

-             During his senior season Hedrick was named Oregon High School State Player of the Year at Central HS. Made second-team All=State as a junior and All-State honorable mention as a sophomore.

-            Hedrick was a three-time selection fir first-team All-Conference squads and the Valco League Player of the Year both his junior and senior seasons.

-             During his senior season Hedrick completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,500 yards, 34 touchdowns and one interception. He rushed for 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior.

-            His junior season Hedrick completed 69 percent of his passes, 41 touchdowns and seven interceptions while rushing for 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns.

-            As a sophomore Hedrick threw 67 percent of his passes complete, 2,600 yards, 31 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

-            Both the Statesman Journal and Oregonian Player of the Year.

-            Lettered in basketball four times and baseball twice in high school.

Tyler Horn – Defensive End – 6-4 – 225 – Freshman – Meridian, Idaho – Mountain View HS

-       His senior season Horn was named first-team All-State and All-Conference on defense. Was also name honorable mention as a junior on both All-State and All-Conference teams.

-       As a senior he recorded 50 tackles, 14 sacks, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and three pass deflections. Also recorded 100 yards on tackles for loss his senior season.

-       Had 45 tackles and 11 sacks his junior season.

-       Conference Defense Player of the Year.

-       Boise State football camp defensive line MVP during 2009.

-       Lettered in track and field three times and basketball once.

Holden Huff – Tight End – 6-6 – 205 – Freshman – Rocklin, Calif. – Rocklin HS

-       Named first-team All-Conference tight end his senior season.

-       2009 Conference Playmaker of the Year

-       first-team All-Conference wide receiver his junior season and 2008 Conference Special Teams Player of the Year.

-       Holds Rocklin HS records in single season receiving yards (989), career receiving yards (1,664), single season touchdown receptions (10) and career touchdown receptions (16).

-       Was a member of the Rocklin HS conference championship team.

-       Lettered in track and field in high school.

Jeremy Ioane – Safety – 5-11 – 195 – Freshman – Honolulu, Hawaii – Punahou HS

-       The ninth ranked football prospect from Hawaii. First-team All-State during 2009 as an all-purpose athlete by the Honolulu Advertiser and All-State linebacker by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

-       Played multiple positions at Punahou HS: safety, running back, quarterback, wide receiver and linebacker at various times during his high school career.

-       Member of the 2008 Division I state championship.

-       Played baseball during 2008 and 2009 where they won both state titles. Also participated in track and field.

-       Rivals.com recognized Ioane as the No. 74 safety in the nation.

Daren Lee – Linebacker – 6-2 – 203 – Freshman – Susanville, Calif. – Lassen HS

-       Named first-team All-State in Division III competition.

-       Voted Northern Athletic League Defensive Most Valuable Player during his senior season.

-       Name to the All-Conference team as a junior.

-       Rushed for 1,300 yards and recorded 141 tackles during his high school career.

-       While a junior he qualified for the California state track and field meet.

-       Letter four times in both track and field and wrestling.

Matt Miller – Wide Receiver – 6-3 – 207 – Freshman – Helena, Mont. – Capital HS

-       Named 2009 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year, Co-offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-State as a receiver and cornerback and second-team All-State as a punt returner as a senior.

-       Senior season stats included 50 receptions for 828 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also had 67 rushes for 864 yards. Defensively he recorded 35 tackles, five knockdowns, two tackles for los and two interceptions.

-       His junior season was named first-team All-State as a receiver and cornerback. Named first-team All-State his junior season as a cornerback and second-team All-State during his sophomore season as a wide receiver.

-       His junior season Miller caught 54 passes for 932 yards and 15 touchdowns. Also rushed for 663 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively he had 39 tackles, four tackles for loss, tow interceptions and one defensive touchdown.

-       From his freshman to junior seasons, Miller helped lead Capital HS to three consecutive State AA football championships and a runner-up his senior season.

-       Holds multiple school records including: single game receptions (10) receptions in a playoff game (9), single season receptions (54), career receptions (108), receiving yards (1,751) and career touchdown receptions (23).

-       Lettered in basketball four times and track and field four times. Voted first-team All-State both his sophomore and junior seasons in basketball. Also Capital HS’s leading career scorer in basketball with over 1,000 points (specific point total not available). Helped his team to their first basketball state championship in school history as a junior.

Kyle Sosnowski – Tight End – 6-2 – 210 – Freshman – Boise, Idaho – Capital HS

-       First-team All-State as a junior and senior. Also a second-team All-State as a sophomore.

-       Awarded first-team All-Southern Idaho Conference as a sophomore, junior and senior.

-       Recorded 46 tackles, four interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries his senior season. On offense he recorded 19 receptions for 367 yards and nine touchdowns.

-       His junior season Sosnowski recorded 67 tackles, five interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

-       During his sophomore season Sosnowski recorded 43 tackles, eight interceptions, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and scored two touchdowns.

-       Lettered one season in basketball.

Troy Ware – Wide Receiver – 6-2 – 175 – Freshman – Oceanside, Calif. – Vista HS

-       Named second-team All-State as a senior as a wide receiver. Also voted first-team All-Palomar League his senior season. Recorded 45 receptions, 699 yards receiving and eight touchdowns his senior season.

-       Named second-team All-Palomar League his junior season. Tallied 26 receptions for 482 yards and four touchdowns as a senior.

-       During his sophomore season Ware recorded seven receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

-       Lettered in track and field three times and was an all-league performer in the triple jump both his sophomore and junior seasons.
