The Associated Press named two Boise State Broncos to their list of All-Americans for the 2009 regular football season.
Sophomore quarterback Kellen Moore and senior cornerback Kyle Wilson were both named to the top teams in college football due to their outstanding performance for the Broncos.
Wilson was named as a second-team AP All-American despite teams working away from him throughout the season. He took full advantage of his opportunities by accruing 40 tackles and three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns.
Moore was named third-team AP All-American following a record-breaking season during his second year as a starter. He finished first in pass efficiency rating (167.3) and second in touchdown passes (39).
Moore broke the Broncos’ single season passing touchdown record earlier this season which was formerly held by Bart Hendricks (35).
Moore completed 64.8 percent of his passes and tallied 3,325 yards passing through 13 games. He had the best touchdown-to-interception ratio in the nation with just three interceptions this season.
Moore completed a touchdown pass for every 10.1 passes thrown.
The Broncos are playing the TCU Horned Frogs Jan. 4, 2010 at Glendale, Ariz., for the Tostito’s Fiesta Bowl.
