The Idaho Vandals did it again. With under a minute remaining in the game against Louisiana Tech, running back DeMaundray Woolridge punched in a score to seal the Vandals’ seventh victory of the year, 35-34.

On the opening kickoff, it looked as though the Vandals were going to run away with the game, as Justin Veltung returned it 94 yards to the house. The Bulldogs responded scoring the next three touchdowns to take a 21-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Eleven seconds into the second quarter, receiver Max Komar caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Enderle to close the gap to 21-14. Louisiana Tech finished the first half scoring with a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ross Jenkins to receiver Cruz Williams.

Trailing 28-14 at the half, Idaho outscored Louisiana Tech 21-6 in the second half. Komar caught another touchdown pass from Enderle to start the second half scoring, this one being a 32-yard connection.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Louisiana Tech running back Myke Compton scored on a 1-yard run, but the ensuing point after touchdown attempt failed, which proved to be the difference.

Idaho put together two drives in the final 10 minutes of the game, turning to their workhouse in the red zone, Woolridge, to score on runs of 1 yard and 2 yards.

With the win, Idaho improved to 7-2 (4-1 Western Athletic Conference) on the year and is closing in on a bowl bid. Idaho’s next game is against Fresno State Saturday at 8:30 pm MT.
