The Cultural Center at Boise State University is committed to raising awareness and understanding about underrepresented and oppressed groups in both minority and dominant culture, creating understanding about the needs of these groups and providing opportunities to all for action and interaction. We focus on education in the areas of identity development, issues of power and privilege, social justice and internalized oppression and promote an environment where people with different values and beliefs are treated with respect and dignity.
We meet this mission through a variety of means including targeted campus programs, classroom lectures, support of student clubs and organizations and outreach to off campus community partners. Our primary focus is on student development and success and we serve as both a support and advocacy resource when necessary to foster support for the growth of diversity and inclusion on campus at all levels.
We also engage in many important partnerships with other student affairs and academic offices on campus. We are part of the office of Student Diversity and Inclusion and work closely with the Women’s Center and the Disability Resource Center, but we regularly work with others including several academic departments on campus. We would love to have you become involved with the transformative work that our office is proud to be engaged in on campus and we would like to welcome you to our broad and diverse Bronco family.
