A few Sports Section staffers encouraged us to do our top five on sports movies, but we needed to give it a twist to make it a little more PopRocks! worthy. We thought about the best part of sports movies, and it became clear – the super hot bodies. Who can resist watching people with super hot bodies be athletic? What self-respecting PopRocks! girl doesn’t appreciate rippling muscles? And so we bring you the top five sexiest scenes from sports movies.
5. “Caddyshack” – By today’s standards, “Caddyshack” probably wouldn’t be considered a sexy movie. But think about it? You know the scene where Lacey (the blonde bombshell played by Cindy Morgan) climbs the diving board ladder and takes the plunge, while a group of horny caddies drop their jaws? That scene is not only one of the most iconic in movie history (it’s been spoofed by filmmakers and screenwriters alike, including Seth Macfarlane), but it goes to show that a pretty girl in a bathing suit is always sexy.
4. “Varsity Blues” – Two words: Ali. Larter. Damn, that girl is gorgeous now in “Heroes” and she was gorgeous way back when in “Varsity Blues.” How any man could resist that girl wearing nothing but whipped cream with a cherry on top is beyond our comprehension. But even though her sundae special gets denied, we still think her perfect bod qualifies this scene as the one of the steamiest on record.
3. “Blue Crush” – OK, so we kind of broke the rule with this one, and didn’t pick one scene. This entire movie is loaded with hotties. There are a few men thrown into the movie, and sure, we appreciate their physiques, but this movie is all about the ladies. I mean come on, have you seen sexier abs? Those girls are cute! The scene at the end when Kate Bosworth rides a gigantic wave is pretty sexy – women with power make us hot.
2. “Remember the Titans” – There are few instances when men with flowing blond locks are attractive, but Sunshine pulls it off in this one. When he is outside the high school practicing Tai Chi or something of that nature and all the girls are watching him and drooling, we can’t help but drool right along with them. Pretty, sensitive men definitely have an appeal to them. Especially when the sun sparkles on their hair.
1.“Jerry Maguire” – There are quite a few memorable lines from this movie, the sappy ones kind of make us gag, but the one that makes us swoon is “Show me the money!” Cuba Gooding Jr. talking on the phone to Tom Cruise and dancing with his shirt off during this scene definitely gets us hot and bothered. Mmm, mmm, now those are some arms, pecs, abs, lats and everything else we could watch again and again.
