Boise State announces tentative non-conference football schedule

BSU has announced a tentative schedule of its 2009 non-conference football games, which includes several changes to its current non-conference schedule.

The Broncos are still set to open the 2009 season at home against the University of Oregon, but the game is tentatively set to move from Sept. 5 (Saturday) to Sept. 3 (Thursday).

Boise State’s home game against Miami (Ohio) University, which was scheduled for Sept. 26 (Saturday), has been moved to Sept. 12 (Saturday).

A road trip to a Mid-American Conference school remains on the Broncos’ schedule, but to a different school than previously announced. Instead of BSU traveling to the University of Toledo, the Broncos will make a trip to Bowling Green State University. The game is set for Sept. 26.

The Broncos are set to host a third non-conference game Oct. 3 (Saturday) against UC Davis. The UC Davis game was originally scheduled for Sept. 19 (Saturday).

Boise State’s final non-conference game of the 2009 season is tentatively set for Oct. 14 (Wednesday) at University of Tulsa.

“The dates on this schedule are still tentative, but this is what we expect to happen,” Boise State Director of Athletics Gene Bleymaier stated. “ESPN is still in the process of finalizing their television games. “

Broncos rout Toreros 6-1 in eleventh straight win

The No.38-ranked Boise State women’s tennis team earned their 11th straight win on Thursday, defeating the No.51-ranked University of San Diego, 6-1, in their final match of their spring break week in California. BSU snagged wins in all doubles matches and all but the No. 4 singles match to improve to 17-2 on the season while the Toreros fall to 9-5.

BSU swept the doubles point with senior Klaudia Wlodarczyk and freshman Vivien Silfany leading the way with an 8-2 win over Juliette Coupez and Samantha Mouly in the No.2 spot. Junior Pichittra Thongdach and freshman Lauren Megale were the next Broncos to pick up a win, defeating Tammy Kevey and Maja Sujica, 8-2 in the No.1 doubles match. Junior Bianca Jochimsen and senior Laura Baum closed out the Broncos’ doubles sweep with an 8-6 win over Marite Raygada and Perl in the No.3 doubles match.
