Story

There is a leader who has the ability to make more than 100 men bow down to his bidding, and follow him into the battle field, clad in body armor, prepared to attack their opponents with bare fists. And you have a chance to take him down.

Can you beat Coach Pete in a 5K fun run?

On April 11 you will have the chance to beat Pete and raise money for student scholarships.

Last year more than $15,000 was raised from participants and Bronco football head coach Chris Petersen. Petersen donates $5 for every racer who takes him down which goes to the general scholarship fund. The bar has been lifted to a $20,000 goal for 2009.

Registration for students is $10 before 11 p.m. April 9 and $15 on race day.

For non-students the cost is $20 prior to 11 p.m. April 9 and $30 on race day.

All participants will receive a shirt and for those who can say they beat Pete, there will be “I Beat Pete,” T-shirts to show off their accomplishment.

Racers will also be given the chance to get Petersen’s and other Boise State football players’ autographs on their T-shirt or race number.
