


The Boise Police Department has received a report of a sexual battery involving unlawful touching that occurred in the Boise State Student Union Building. The incident involved a male non-student who approached a female student asking for help locating his lost cell phone. A suspect has been identified and this incident is being actively investigated by the Boise Police Department.
While we do not believe the BSU community is at risk, it is important to be aware of a few general safety precautions:
* When walking, be aware of your surroundings
* Report suspicious activity or individuals to University Security at (208) 426-1453, or for emergencies call 9-1-1
* If possible, walk in pairs or groups and try to stay in well lighted areas

* University Security and Boise Police Department offer free “emergency only” cell phones
