


Boise State University (16-6, 6-3 Western Athletic Conference) men’s basketball slipped by Nevada (13-10, 6-4 WAC) in the rankings Saturday night with their 89-83 victory over San Jose State (10-11, 4-6 WAC).
Ike Okoye, junior forward for the Broncos, scored 22 points accompanied by six rebounds to drive BSU to victory. He has scored 15 or more points point in four of the nine conference match-ups this season. He leads his team in blocks with 22, including four against SJSU.
BSU junior guard Anthony Thomas also had a solid night, scoring 15 points and five assists to help carry the Broncos to triumph.
SJSU’s sophomore guard Adrian Oliver stamped a career night, scoring 37 points in the Spartans loss. This is Oliver’s sixth game with 22 or more points this season and is averaging 17.9 points per game.
The men travel next to Fresno, Calif. to face conference foe Fresno State Bulldogs (9-14, 1-7 WAC) on Monday, Feb. 9. FSU is ranked last in conference play.
The Broncos will return home before facing No. 22 Utah State Aggies (23-1, 11-0 WAC) Feb. 14 followed by in-state rival Idaho Vandals (10-12, 4-5 WAC) Feb. 18 at the Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho.
Both the Idaho and USU handed the Broncos their last two losses this season. The Aggies currently hold the nation’s longest winning streak with 18 straight wins.
