San Diego Calif.-Just call it the Anthony Thomas, Mark Sanchez show and Kurt Cunningham show.

Monday night the three Broncos combined for 53 of the Broncos 75 points in their win over San Diego.

“Tonight it just came down to the leaders taking over,” senior Mark Sanchez said.

In the first half Monday night at Jenny Craig Arena it was Thomas who had the spotlight. The junior guard was an astounding 6-of-6 from the field and 4-of-4 from the three point line for 16 points, six rebounds and three assists.

“Today I was just in the zone. I was just trying to stay focused,” Thomas said.

With a 39-32 lead going into the second half, Cunningham and Sanchez tag-teamed in for Thomas and combined for 36 points to help propel BSU to their second road win of the season.

Cunningham only eight minutes in the first half and finished with two points. In the second half, his physical play and big body played to BSU’s advantage as he finished with 13 points and four rebounds.

“I think I just crashed the boards and the ball came to me,” Cunningham said.

On the other end of things, Sanchez finished the game with 20 points, four rebounds as he rebounded from a five point outing in the first half of play.

“[I was] just a little over anxious [in the first half],” Sanchez said. “Pretty much just staying focused. I was just getting the ball in the system.”

Also playing to BSU advantage was the crowd. With a good chunk of Bronco fans in town for the Poinsettia Bowl, many came out to support the men’s basketball squad.

“It was just like a home game,” Sanchez said.
