Now that everyone is finished with political elections it’s about time that music got a democratic policy as well. Let’s allow artists of the correct and talented caliber a public voice.

Cherrypeel is an independent organization dedicated to finding the right music for people who love music. Their Website was created because few underground musicians have had their music in full illustration. Aspiration, inspiration, devotion and the love for music has found a new home at Cherrypeel.

Cherrypeel is a community Web site where fans of all types of music can find quality music. Cherrypeel started with a simple conversation between founder and operator Andrew Stern and business partner Scott Hydman. The conversation revolved around how to find new music.

After a lengthy discussion about how the music industry is changing due to technology, they decided to create Cherrypeel to help new musicians gain attention and give listeners an efficient way to find new music.

Cherrypeel reflects an inherent desire to find new and independent music. Cherrypeel is always trying to find new music, keep people from listening to the cliché pop culture norms and keep artists from getting ripped off from unfair contracts.

After Cherrypeel’s launch, it built strong relationships with a variety of bands. Beyond their Website, it has helped with radio, blogs, podcasts and printed media. In the theme of democracy it has also begun to incorporate all types of music and endorse artists of any genre.

“Cherrypeel is a music Web site that helps bring artists and listeners together,” Stern said.

“Up until now, major labels, radio stations and TV channels have been the only ones with the power to decide which artists and genres are heard. We are trying to democratize music by giving the listeners a voice.”

With the help of Cherrypeel people can think for themselves and decide what and who they wish to listen to or observe.

Cherrypeel is constantly improving the way users interact with music. This includes simplifying the Web site to make it more accessible, adding relevant features to encourage further understanding of independent music and encouraging new artists to join the Website.

Cherrypeel believes exposing smaller bands will enhance the music scene and give listeners a wider variety. It also puts a strong emphasis on local music scenes and tries to help local bands succeed in their endeavors to be professional musicians.

Location can be important. However, since Cherrypeel is an online organization, it helps with nationwide music scenes.

“We will shortly be implementing a system for listeners to narrow down the bands they listen to on Cherrypeel based on location. We hope this will increase the number of fans Cherrypeel bands are able to attract to their shows,” Stern said.
