The Boise State University Broncos kept the rewards rolling Monday afternoon. After completing an undefeated regular season, 11 different Broncos and Head Coach Chris Petersen earned All-Conference honors.

Freshman quarterback Kellen Moore, who earned Freshman of the Year honors, headlined the Broncos.

Moore led the Western Athletic Conference in passing as he finished the regular season 259-370 for 3,264 yards and threw for 25 touchdowns, and had a passing rating of 161.53, which ranks No.11 in the NCAA.

Moore also made the second-team All-WAC.

On the other side of the field, Petersen earned Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his three-year head-coaching career at Boise State.

“He deserves it,” junior Kyle Wilson said. “He’s really down to earth. I really like his coaching style.”

Petersen has accumulated a 35-3 (23-1 WAC) record with Boise State since being at the helm and has two perfect regular seasons under his belt.

Juniors Jeremy Childs and Kyle Wilson led a group of three other men who earned All-WAC first team honors for the season.

Childs, who earned first team honors last season as well, led the Broncos in receiving with 65 catches for 741 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.

“It’s a blessing for me to get the honors two years in a row, but … nobody gets honors without the team success,” Childs said.

Joining Childs on the first team for offense was senior lineman Andrew Woodruff.

On the defensive end, Wilson earned his first ever first team honors as corner back. Wilson leads the WAC in interceptions with five and is also ranked 10 in the nation.

He finished the regular season with 28 tackles and a team leading 10 pass breakups.  Wilson also received second team honors as a specialist leading the WAC in punt returns with 470 yards and three touchdowns.

“It’s definitely exciting,” Wilson said of his honors. “It’s a small step for the team. I accomplished on the season some of the goals I set when I came here.”

Also making first team defensively for the Broncos was defensive end Ryan Winterswyk who led Boise State in quarterback sacks (4.5 for 33 yards) and tackles for loss (10.0 for 45 yards).

Senior safety Ellis Powers also made the first team.

He was Boise State’s second leading tackler with 71 and had 49 unassisted.  He also made eight tackles for loss, 2.5 quarterbacks, forced one fumble and recovered two fumbles, returning both for touchdowns.

“I’m truly happy for him  [Powers]. He’s one of my best friends out here,” Wilson said. “I know everything he’s been through since he got here. He climbed probably the biggest mountain out of everyone from here. I’m just happy for him and all the things he’s done, and the things he’s getting recognized for this year.”

Broncos who joined Moore and Wilson on the All-WAC second team was junior wide receiver Austin Pettis, senior running back Ian Johnson, defensive end Mike T. Williams and safety
Jeron Johnson.

The Broncos’ bowl fate will be decided this Sunday at 6 p.m. when the bowl selection show for the BCS is set to start.
