The Boise State volleyball squad season has been a bumpy one to say the least, but at the Western Athletic Conference tournament Thursday in Honolulu, Hawaii they hope to smooth those bumps out.

The Broncos (4-9, 9-18 overall) are the No. 7 team in the tournament and will face No. 2 University of Hawai’i at 10:30 p.m.

In the two previous meetings with Hawai’i earlier this season, BSU lost both of them 0-6.

The Broncos will need the assistance of their offensive attack to pull off the upset against the Warriors.

The Broncos are led offensively by sophomore Sadie Maughan who has tallied 210 kills (.278 percentage) on the season. She also holds the second highest block total for the Broncos with 100 (15 solo).

Sophomore Alisha King sits just behind in kills with 209 on the season and a team leading kills per set average of 2.22. King is also tied with sophomore Lauren Hamm for a team high of 24 service aces.

Hamm also leads the team in digs with 351 on the season (3.55 per set average). Senior Mandy Klein ranks second on the team in digs with 195 while also running the majority of the offense on her 795 set assists this season. Freshman Lydia Blaha leads the team defensively at the net with 105 blocks (23 solo) on the season and a 1.14 per set average.

In the WAC standings, Boise State holds the No. 3 spot in blocks, No. 5 in opponent hitting percentage, No. 7 in hitting percentage and No. 8 in assists, kills, aces and digs.
