Boise State University golfer Troy Merritt captured his second consecutive Ron Moore Invitational title with a school-record 200 (-16), Sunday, Mar. 23.

Women lose second round game in NIT

The Boise State women’s basketball team was able to advance to the second round of the WNIT on March 23, after defeating Idaho State in the first round of action on March 20, 77-54.

In the second round BSU had to travel to Fort Worth, Texas to face perennial powerhouse Texas Christian University. After a strong start by the Broncos, TCU poured it on and never looked back.

Junior Tasha Harris’s game-high 25 points weren’t enough to save BSU as they fell 56-85, their worst lost of the season.

BSU tennis hits it big over the break

Over the break, the Boise State men and women’s tennis teams were plenty busy.

The men hosted the BSU Spring Invitational March 21-24. In their first match they swept Georgia State 4-0, then moved on to face Yale in the semifinals and beat them 4-0. They ended the Invitational by defeating Wichita State 4-0 as well.

Tuesday, March 25, the team traveled to Salt Lake City where the Broncos defeated Utah 7-0. The No.39 Broncos then returned home Friday to face Brown, where they defeated them 6-1. The team finished off the break Sunday where they faced Denver. On the other side of the net, the women were able to put together a nice run during the break. They went on to defeat Cal State-Northridge, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine. With the wins, the No. 43 women are now one a nine match-winning streak.
