Thursday night’s basketball game for the Boise State women turned out to quite historical.
Sophomore center Ja’Lara Walker set a school record in rebounds with 23.
Walker led the team with 21 points en route to a 74-65 victory over San Jose State.
“I really didn’t feel that I got that many rebounds,” Walker said. “It’s kind of unreal.”
The win over the Spartans made history as well. It marked the Broncos’ 20th win of the season. This is the first time in school history that the women’s program has had back to back 20-win seasons.
“It was a great goal and we achieved that and I’m proud of our players for that,” Head Coach Gordy Presnell said.
“That’s definitely a great accomplishment for us. [Presnell has] done a great job here at the school,” Walker said.
