America is the land of opportunity because of its incentive to succeed. In America you can fail, and that’s ok! In socialism where there are an infinite amount of safety nets to protect everyone from everything there is no progression. By embracing socialism we stop the progress of the human spirit and destroy the incentive to lift ones self up. Socialism breeds laziness and creates unproductive individuals. Let me expound.
It’s simple, let people keep their money and be free to make as much as they want. This is capitalism, it allows people to create jobs invent new technology and improve the quality of life for everyone in the country. This lifts the lower and middle classes up. This works because the individual has incentive to make profits for himself and improve his lot in life. If you impose socialism which taxes heavily, the individual looses all desire to produce and create new jobs and technologies because he or she receives no extra benefit for their creativity and work. The lower and middle classes are hurt even more because there are less jobs being created and plus they loose desire to contribute into the economy because they receive the same benefits from socialism whether they work or not. In socialism people realize it’s worthless to work harder or even work at all because you receive the same amount of benefit as those who don’t work.
There is a myth in our country that the majority of wealth is inherited and the wealthy got rich because of mama and papa’s work. Well this is False! 80 percent of American millionaires are 1st generation millionaires. That means they made their money on their own. That is awesome; with capitalism anyone can become wealthy. The funny thing is that in socialism you have to inherit your wealth to become wealthy because the government will take and redistribute whatever you make on your own. That is if you have the incentive to even try. Most people don’t have incentive in socialist countries and just move to our country where we encourage and reward success.
I do care that all people are able to meet their basic needs of food, water, and shelter. All men are created equal, this refers to our human rights and in no way whatsoever does it refer to monetary equality.
Health care is also a major platform of the socialist movement in the world. I do believe we need reform in our healthcare, but we need to use free market capitalist ideas and not socialized medicine to provide healthcare for all. I don’t want to have to pay the medical costs for some ones lifestyle choices. Smoking, drugs, alcohol, uncontrolled sexual activity, and even riding a motorcycle are lifestyle choices that could lead to huge medical costs. I don’t want to be rude but if you get lung cancer from smoking, my tax dollars should not have to pay for your care because that was your choice not mine, you suffer the consequences. The government can’t provide everything for everyone nor should it.
A vote for socialism is a vote backwards. Capitalism and the free markets benefit the maximum amount of people possible where as socialism eventually dies because of the lack of free thought, ideas, and risk. Conservatism and capitalism are built on the foundation of personal responsibility; you are rewarded for hard work but will have to suffer the consequences of all your choices. That is how you and a society progress. It is up to we the people to care for those around us, not the government. How often do you volunteer to help the sick, the needy? How often do you donate to charity? We the people have the ability to take care of our social problems without our government. Let us rise up and use all that we have been blessed with voluntarily, for this is true charity. This type of charity coming from real people will enhance and enrich the lives of so many more people in need than a government program or check ever could. This is what true conservative capitalism means.
