BSU heads back to Hawaii

With the BCS picture set, the rest of the bowl plan was set with a trickle down effect. According to espn.com, Boise State will face East Carolina in the Sheraton Hawaii bowl on Dec. 23 in Honolulu, Hawaii. ECU finished the season 7-5 with a 6-2 record in Conference USA play.

ECU lost to Virginia Tech, 17-7, and West Virginia, 48-7, in preseason play. ECU finished in a tie for second in C-USA with Memphis, Tulsa and Houston. The Hawaii bowl is schedule for 8 p.m. (ET) and will air on ESPN.

With the Broncos heading to Hawaii the Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl will host Georgia Tech (7-5, 4-4) and Fresno State (8-4, 6-2). The game is schedule for Dec. 31 at 12 p.m. (MT) in Bronco Stadium. It will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Hawaii tastes sugar

The University of Hawaii became just the third non-BCS conference school to receive an invitation to a BCS bowl game having been selected to the 2008 Allstate Sugar Bowl, Sunday. After finishing the season 12-0 and No. 10 in the BCS, the Warriors will travel to New Orleans, La. on Jan. 1 to face No. 5 University of Georgia (10-2).

Rounding out the other three BCS games is – No. 7 Southern California vs. No. 13 Illinois (Rose Bowl), No. 4 Oklahoma vs. No. 9 West Virginia (Fiesta Bowl) and No. 3 Virginia Tech vs. No. 8 Kansas (Orange Bowl). The national championship has been set between LSU and Ohio State and will be played Jan. 7.
