Boise State University is expected to see record enrollment numbers as the fall semester begins.

In addition, BSU has seen a rise in the number of students from outside the state of Idaho. According to BSU Enrollment Counselor Niki Callison, this increase is due to the publicity the university has received from the football program combined with continual efforts from the admissions office.

This year, 1,900 of the new students on campus graduated from high school with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Callison said that this is good news for both the students and the university.

“The more academically prestigious your university is, the more prestigious your degree is,” Callison said. “It makes your degree more valuable and more respected.”

The final enrollment numbers will not be available until Sept. 10-11.
