A fire alarm Monday morning in the Student Union Building sent football fans into a panic. Some students had been waiting in line to get tickets to the first game of the season for more than two hours. "Our friends had our student ID’s and they were right at the front of the line when the alarm went off. I think someone thought they weren’t going to get football tickets and pulled the alarm," Boise State student Tenisha Gallegos said. Students like Dylan Lambert decided to forego their first day of class in order to wait in line for coveted football tickets. "This just goes to show you they need to release more student tickets! No more skipping class hoping to get some," Lambert said. Others were more than happy to take advantage of the fire alarm. "I was way in the back and had only been in line for ten minutes and now I’m all the way up front. This rocks," Nick Nalph said. Jessica Warnecke who works at the Info Desk and was passing out tickets said, "I saw the lights flashing and I was like … tell me this is a joke." There was a lot of speculation as to the cause of the fire alarm amongst the students I spoke with. Some students were sure it was a prank. Aramark Director of Operations Timothy Kellen set the records straight. "It wasn’t a fire. It was an electrical mishap in the kitchen. There were no flames," Kellen said.
