For the second time this summer, a body has been found in the Boise River.

Boise Police recovered the body of an adult male from the river around noon on Sunday.

Investigators said a group of kayakers using the river saw what they believed to be a corpse in the river near 43rd Street. The kayakers contacted public safety dispatchers. With the help of the Boise Fire Department, officers removed the body of the male victim from some debris in the river.

As of Sunday afternoon, the identity of the victim was not known. The individual was found fully clothed in the river and may be in his mid-40s. Officials said no missing persons report had been filed.

Detectives  are working to identify the man and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Witnesses at the scene told officers that it was clear the man had no signs of life when they discovered the body. A police spokesman said detectives do not have reason to suspect foul play; however following standard protocol, an investigation treating the discovery as a crime scene will continue until the exact nature of what happened can be determined.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office will conduct an examination to determine the cause of death.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS. In June, the body of 84-year-old Marjorie Ann Saizar of Garden City was found in the river.

A medical examination determined that Saizar’s cause of death was drowning. She suffered no obvious sign of injury, authorities said, adding that they had no reason to suspect foul play in that case.
