Six former Boise State University football players took part in the 2007 NFL Combine Feb. 21-27 in Indianapolis, Ind. The Combine is a scouting center for each year’s NFL draft and invites over 300 players to participate in various athletic tests for NFL scouts from every team in the league.

Five of the six former BSU players testing at the Combine finished first in at least one event for their respective testing group. Safety Gerald Alexander actually tested with the second highest vertical jump of the entire combine, registering a 41-inch vertical leap. Quarterback Jared Zabransky finished first in his group for the 20-yard shuttle, while receiver Legedu Naanee finished highest in the vertical jump for his group.

Naanee’s counterpart wide receiver Drisan James finished one inch behind Naanee in the vertical jump and also finished first in his testing group in the broad jump. Tight End Derek Schouman finished first in his group’s 20-yard shuttle, the 60-yard shuttle and the vertical jump.

All six former BSU players are expected to participate in the NFL team workout session for BSU players March 5. The NFL draft is scheduled for April 28-29 in New York City, NY.
