Bowling For Soup, a renowned punk rock band, recently released a new CD, “The Great Burrito Extortion Case.” The new album shows off their buoyantly happy rock style. The well-known single “High School Never Ends” can be found on the new CD.
This exciting track presents a jovial way of keeping the listener interested with a catchy beat meanwhile criticizing the way people are just as nosy now as they were in high school. Other tracks on the new CD include “Val Kilmer” and “When We Die,” both brand new. “Val Kilmer” engages the listener with that
traditional Bowling For Soup up-beat and happy rhythm whereas “When We Die” slows things down a little. Bowling For Soup’s songs effectively gain the listeners attention and respect.
Bowling For Soup is one of the only rock bands out there right now that produces happy music instead of miserably depressing sadness. The band takes pride in their ability to provide today’s world with uplifting and positive music. One of the songs on their new album, “A Friendly Good-Bye,” takes the modern usage of swear and cuss words to a cleaner, more comical level by using phrases such as “F-U” and “H-E- double hockey sticks.”The band will be performing at The Big Easy Concert House Friday at 8 p.m. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and most of the songs the band will be performing are from their new album.
Tickets cost only $15 and the show should be a blast.
The happy-rock band has written nine albums of entirely new music since 1994. All of the songs on each album are hit material, something not many bands have come close to accomplishing.
The members of the band are from Texas and received attention outside the Lone Star State after performing in Warped Tour. Bowling For Soup is now a nationally
renowned punk rock band and also has a presence across the pond in the United Kingdom. The punk rock band constantly criticizes the modern entertainment world and according to their website, they are entitled to do so because they have had a difficult time getting noticed by the entertainment world.
The group’s main focus is to provide people with happy music and that goes along with the band slogan, “Get Happy!” something that is evident from their lyrics and sound of their music. Bowling For Soup has come a long way since they started and will definitely offer a good show on Friday. Not to mention, “The Great Burrito Extortion Case,” their new album, is loaded with surefire hits.
