The University of Oklahoma and Boise State University share a deep tradition of football excellence. Oklahoma is one of the most tradition rich universities in college football. BSU has only competed at the Division I level since 1996, however, the Broncos have also experience their share of football glory.
Boise State entered the 2006 season as the top scoring football program since 2000. The Broncos posted 42.1 points per game through the first six seasons of the new millennium. Boise State won a Division I-AA National Championship in 1980 and returned to the Championship game again in 1994 but lost to Youngstown State.
The Sooners, meanwhile, have the best record in the nation since World War II (542-159-13, .762). OU also holds the NCAA record for most consecutive wins with 47 (1953-1957). The Sooners have scored more points in program history than anyone else in college football with 29,138. OU is also first in the nation in 11-plus win seasons and 10-plus win seasons. OU has gone undefeated 14 times in program history.
