There was no MPC Bowl game in Boise 2003
The bowl game for the 2003 season was actually scheduled for January 3rd, 2004 and the game for the 2004 season was scheduled December 27th, 2004. This gave the 2004 calendar-year two bowl games and the 2003 calendar-year no bowl games.
Howie Long was in attendance for the 2004 MPC Bowl game
His son played for the University of Virginia and Howie was watching the game from the stands at Bronco Stadium.
Famous boxing referee and TV judge Miles Lane may be at this year’s game
OK, we don’t know if he really will be in attendance, but Miles is a proud alumnus of the University of Nevada at Reno.
The Miami Hurricanes mascot, is a bird called an ibis
Folklore has it that the ibis is the last wildlife to take shelter during a hurricane and the first to reemerge after. The Hurricanes’ mascot is named Sebastian and looks like a pissed-off Donald Duck.
The 1999 MPC Bowl game was ESPN 2’s largest audience of the season
It featured Boise State versus Louisville and had 10 lead changes.
