As the Broncos prepare for the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, Boise State University students, alumni and fans across the state of Idaho are preparing for the big game by making travel reservations and learning what Arizona activities will entertain family and friends. However, amid the desert, cacti and sunshine, the diverse geography of the state is often overlooked, with mountains in the north and east and various deserts, canyons and lakes spread across the state.

Bronco fans are welcome to celebrate Arizona, America’s Natural Theme Park and to learn more about a variety of events occurring around the Fiesta Bowl by visiting aztourist.com, home of the AZ Tourist News, Arizona’s leading travel publication known for it’s promotion of the “Other Arizona.” Aztourist.com has earned a national reputation as the state’s leading resource for tourists by highlighting all the areas of Arizona that collectively make travel more exciting rather the standard than the popular golf, swimming and tennis.

“Tourists are always amazed when they learn about the variety of the activities and information our state offers,” Publisher Tony Venuti said. “It is a true reflection of the geographic diversity and variety of entertainment options in Arizona.”

Aztourist.com and AZ Tourist News is a free, 48 page, tabloid newspaper dedicated to bringing out-of-state tourists timely and accurate information about the many Grand Canyon State attractions. The family-friendly publication distributes 60,000 copies statewide to 1000 locations, including shops, hotels, restaurants, rest stops, and visitor centers. The publication features articles, reviews, and directories that will interest all visitors from the Gem State.

A highlight of northern Arizona’s beautiful scenery is the popular tourist destination of Sedona. Sedona’s stunning rock formations and natural wonders include Red Rock State park, Bell Rock Pathway and over 40 fine art galleries. Camp Verde’s “Out of Africa” attraction is one of many situated just south of Sedona and juxtaposed between Jerome and Prescott. This unforgettable day trip is just one example of the possible vacation activities listed on the website and in the 48-page publication.

The most visible landmark of Arizona has always been the Grand Canyon, and the landmark and its national park will amaze first-time visitors and repeat tourists alike. Air Grand Canyon offers a variety of tours including the Monument Valley-Lake Powell tour over the main gorge of the Grand Canyon where the colors of Marble Canyon and the Confluence of the Colorado River are on display.

If a trip south of the border is more your style, head about 200 miles south to Puerto Penasco, also known as Rocky Point, often referred to as Arizona’s Beachfront Property. The beaches, resorts and breath-taking scenery make Rocky Point the perfect destination for BSU alumni who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

To get a fell for the quaint charm of Rocky Point, head to Old Port for shopping, fish and shrimp markets, beach vendors and formal and informal dining. Memories of Rocky Point’s stunning sunsets and panoramic view of the Sea of Cortez will be with you long after the Fiesta Bowl is over.

“If planned properly, a trip to Arizona can be separated into three or four mini-vacations in one,” says Venuti. “Use AZ Tourist News and Aztourist.com as your personal travel resource well in advance for a memorable vacation that you will never forget."
