ELKO – An Idaho man was arrested Saturday Sept. 30 after being accused of raping a Salt Lake City woman in her hotel room in West Wendover, Nevada.

Timothy Lee Volk, 23, of Boise was arrested by a West Wendover police officer on a charge of sexual assault. His bail was set at $10,000.

The 31-year-old alleged victim reported the incident to police at 2 a.m.

“They met in the casino,” said West Wendover Police Chief Ron Supp. According to police, the alleged assault took place “immediately upon entering the room.”He overpowered her,” Supp said.

“Somebody else came to the room and they couldn’t get in because they didn’t have keys,” Supp said. “When she got up to open the door he left the room. “The detectives are still doing follow-up.”

Volk is a former Bronco defensive lineman. He left the team before this season due to injuries. More information will be available as soon as possible.
