


Local punk rock alive and well in Boise
1332 Records has just released a new compilation CD of local punk rock. “Twice the Evil” features 26 bands ranging from punk, grind core to extreme metal.
Some of the bands featured on the compilation are Hillstreet Stranglers, Wilt Chamberlin's Baby, Wilson St. Pub & Sluthouse Band, Starscream and Grease Demon. The CD sells for only $5 and the label will put the profits towards releasing full length CD’s of Boise’s local bands.
If you have trouble finding a copy get down to The Bouquet on Monday nights. 1332 Records hosts a weekly show they call Punk Mondays. April 24 will feature the bands LKI, and Murder and the Media Machine.
Iggy and the Stooges begin work on new CD
According to Billboard.com Iggy Pop is holed up in Florida cottage writing songs for a new CD with his band the Stooges.
This will be the bands first release since 1973 and it will be produced by Steve Albini (Nirvana), with help on a couple songs by Jack White (White Stripes).

2006 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with Alice in Chains
Alice in Chains has announced they will play the 2006 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Aug. 11 in Sturgis, North Dakota.
This is the 25th anniversary of the rally and the list of bands is impressive. It includes Kid Rock, Lynrd Skynrd, Alice Cooper, George Thorogood, and Blue Oyster Cult.

Guns N’ Roses book two U.S. shows
Guns N’ Roses are playing two shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom in N.Y.C.
The shows are May 15 and 17, and tickets go on sale April 21 at the cost of $63 dollars a pop.
These two shows will be an amazing opportunity to see the band an intimate general admission theatre that holds only 2,500 people.
The shows are considered to be a warm-up for the bands European festival tour that starts in Portugal, May 27 at the Rock in Rio festival. After that Guns N’ Roses have about 20 more shows currently booked overseas this spring.
With no official announcement, the unconfirmed rumors are still swirling about a re-union of the original Guns N’ Roses. Everyone may have to wait until the band takes the stage in N.Y. to know the truth.
