


BOISE, Idaho – Boise State University will open its 2005
football season on the road when the Broncos travel to the
University of Georgia to face the Bulldogs on September 3
(Saturday).
The game will mark Boise State’s first football game in the Peach
State and the fourth time the Broncos have played a team from the
Southeastern Conference. Prior games against SEC opponents have
come against the University of Arkansas and the University of South
Carolina. Boise State is 0-2 against the Razorbacks and 0-1 against
the Gamecocks.
Boise State is scheduled to play back-to-back road games to
open the 2005 schedule. Following their trip to Athens, Georgia,
the Broncos will travel to Corvallis, Oregon, to face Oregon State
University on September 10 (Saturday). The Oregon State contest
will be the third in a four-game series with the Beavers. The final
game in the series is scheduled to be played on September 9, 2006,
at Bronco Stadium.
The Bronco’s first home game of the 2005 season will be September
17 (Saturday) when Boise State begins a home and home series
against
Bowling Green State University. Boise State returns the game in
Bowling Green, Ohio, in 2006 on September 23 (Saturday).
In this year’s pre-season rankings by Athlon Sports, Georgia is
ranked third and Oregon State is ranked 22nd.
Boise State’s final non-conference game of the 2005 season will be
against Portland State University of the Big Sky Conference. The
Vikings will travel to Bronco Stadium on October 8 (Saturday).
While Boise State knows its home and away WAC games in 2005, the
conference office has not scheduled dates for its league games.
Home WAC games for the Broncos in 2005 include the University of
Idaho, the University of Nevada, New Mexico State University and
San Jose State University. Road league games will be at Fresno
State, the University of Hawai’i, Louisiana Tech University and
Utah State University.
In regards to the 2004 Boise State schedule, the Broncos open on
September 4 (Saturday) against Idaho. Kickoff at Bronco Stadium is
set for 6:05 p.m.
