The Boise State University Athletic Department invites all

Bronco fans to a “Spring Fling Celebration” Thursday to

help celebrate an outstanding year of athletic achievement for the

Broncos. The celebration will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on

Thursday in downtown Boise at the Ha Penny Bridge Pub. The Ha Penny

is located at 855 Broad Street and the celebration party will be

held downstairs in suite 250.

The “Spring Fling” will also be helping raise proceeds

to fund summer school scholarships at Boise State. The cost is $100

per couple, or $50 per person. Boise State wants to raise $50,000

or more for summer school financial aid to help Bronco

student-athletes stay in Boise to go to school and workout for next

season.

Along with door prizes and auction items, there will be live music,

hors d’oeuvres, complimentary drinks and a no-host bar.

Parking will be available in the city garage across the street from

Ha Penny, or on the street near the 8th Street Marketplace.

Remember, parking in the city garage is free only for the first

hour.

Bronco head football coach Dan Hawkins, head men’s basketball

coach Greg Graham and other Boise State head coaches and staff will

be on hand to help celebrate an excellent season for the

Broncos.

During the current 2003-04 athletic season, Boise State was ranked

number one among NCAA Division I-A schools in regards to graduation

rates above the average of the school’s student body and

received a USA Today – NCAA Academic Achievement award for the

second straight year.

On the field, Boise State won the WAC Football Championship with an

undefeated 8-0 record for the second year in-a-row, the men’s

basketball team advanced to the second round of the National

Invitational Tournament (NIT), the women’s gymnastics team

won its second consecutive Western Gymnastics Conference

Championship, the wrestling team won its third Pac-10 Conference

Championship in five years and the men’s track and field team

won the WAC Indoor Championship. Boise State is also currently

ranked 70th in the 2003-04 United States Sports Academy

Director’s Cup.
