Creed cancelled…
Due to throat complications for lead singer Scott Stapp, Creed cancelled several concerts earlier this month.

Now that Stapp’s throat seems to have recovered, Creed will be making up the concerts they missed. However, Creed opted to skip their scheduled performance in Nampa this Sunday to make up a concert in Los Angeles.

Information regarding refunds for the show is expected to be released soon.

Poetry reading…
Boise State adjunct professor Norman Weinstein will be reading poetry from his latest book Weaving Fire From Water [Rubedo: Book II] tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Literary Log Cabin Center.

He will also be available for book signing. Tickets are available for $2-$3.

The Literary Log Cabin Center is located at 801 S. Capitol Blvd. For more information call 331-8000.

Rock & Roll will never die…
As long as bands like The Strokes continue to prosper, rock & roll is here to stay.

As part of their 25th Anniversary Party, The Record Exchange is presenting The Strokes at the Big Easy Concert House on Friday.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at The Record Exchange, located at 1105 W. Idaho St.

Will Jam for Food…
Earnest Orange, Chakra Mission, Ned Evett and Bill Coffey are performing at the Big Easy Concert House Thursday as part of an Idaho Food Bank benefit concert.

Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students.

Door prizes will be awarded, including two tickets for one trip on Horizon Air. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Blues man James Armstrong…

In celebration of their ninth anniversary, the Blues Bouquet is presenting California blues man James Armstrong.

Armstrong is sure to give fans a bluesy feast, with the musical influences of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Robert Cray.

Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for members of the Boise Blues Society. A yearly membership to the Boise Blues Society is $15.

The Blues Bouquet kicks off the night with the Boise Blues Society meeting at 5:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to join.

The Blues Bouquet is located at 1010 Main St. in downtown Boise.

Austin City Limits…
For those of you that want to stay home for the weekend, Idaho PTV presents “By the Hand of the Father” on Austin City Limits, channel 4 at 9:30 p.m.. The program features the music of Alejandro Escovedo as well as stories and songs from the stage production of By the Hand of the Father, a story set in the 20th century about the passage of a Mexican-American father.
