SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Bronco women’s basketball team had its win streak stopped at three in a 64-53 loss to San Jose State Thursday night. San Jose State increased its own win streak to five games with the victory.

The Broncos were led by Andrea Swindall who scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Mandy Welch backed her with 11 points and four rebounds. The Broncos shot just 33 percent from the field (19-57), seven percent from three-point range (1-14), and a strong 71 percent from the free throw line.

“We seemed flat from the beginning.” Boise State head coach Trisha Stevens said, “We did not respond well to the physical play of San Jose State.”

The Spartans were led by Tatiana Taylor with 14 points and 10 rebounds. San Jose State shot 40 percent from the floor (24-56), 44 percent from three-point range (4-9) and 63 percent from the free throw line (12-19).

The Broncos drop to 5-12 in conference play and 9-18 overall with one game left to play in the regular season (at Hawaii on Saturday). San Jose State, 11-6 in the WAC, 16-10 overall, hosts UTEP on Saturday.
